The Glories of Greece

The contributions of Greece to our world are impressive.    Art, music, dance, literature,. philosophy. food and wine – and of course, the origins of the democratic ideal.    Enjoy this fascinating country.

Day 1 Arrival – Athens
Upon your arrival at Athens airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. 
Welcome dinner  introducing you to the fantastic food and wines of this country. (D)

Day 2 Athens
Breakfast at the hotel and depart for the Athens sightseeing tour including visit to the
Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum plus other magnificent examples of the cultural heritage of Greece.  Overnight Athens hotel. (BD)

Day 3 Athens – Olympia
After breakfast, you will be picked-up from your hotel to explore the cultural heritage of Greece starting
with the Peloponnese. Stop at Corinth Canal. Continue and visit the famous theater of
Epidaurus (known worldwide for its acoustics). Continue to Mycenae where a visit of
the archaeological site of the Acropolis prehistoric, with the door of the Lions and
Timulo of Agamemnon. In the afternoon, depart for Olympia and cross the Central
region of the Peloponnese and the cities of Tripoli and Megalopolis. Arrive in
Olympia, the cradle of creation of the Olympic Games, end the day with dinner again to enjoy the fantastic Greek cuisine and

Day 4 Olympia – Delphi
Continuing our exploration of the art and culture of ancient Greece, we visit the Sanctuary of Zeus, the facilities of the
Olympic Stadium (where the first Olympic Games were held) and the Archaeological
Museum. Continue, passing through the plains of Eliada and Achaia and cross the
bridge that connects the Corinthian sea (Rion to Antirion). Visit the picturesque towns
of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea, arriving in Delphi. Dinner and overnight (BD)

Day 5 Delphi – Meteora
 The city of Delphi,  known as the center of the ancient
world,is an amazing example of ancient Greek culture.   Visit its archaeological site and museum, with its famous bronze statue
“Auriga”,   Then we depart  for Kalambaka, a small town situated under the giant rocks of Meteora. Dinner, more great Greek food,  and overnight. (BD)

Day 6 Meteora – Athens 
In the early morning  we visit to the monasteries of Meteora, located
on towering rocks in a landscape of unique natural beauty. You will have free time for
lunch.  Return to the vibrant city of Athens.  Overnight Athens hotel. (BD)

Day 7 Athens -Mykonos
In the morning we go to the  Port of Piraeus to board the 4day cruise that will sail to
 Mykonos, the island famous for its beaches, unrivaled beauty and its busy nightlife complete with incredible Greek music and dance.

Day 8 Kusadasi – Patmos
First port of call today will be for Kusadasi (Turkey). Do not miss the opportunity to
participate in the tour to Ephesus, one of the oldest cities ever excavated. Afternoon
arrival to the island of Patmos,  with an 
optional tour  to the monastery and grotto where Saint John
lived and wrote the Book of Revelation. (FB)

Day 9 Rhodes
Morning arrival to the harbor of Rhodes, with its famous Acropolis of Lindos,, also
known as the island of the Crusaders Knights of the Order of St. John and the
medieval city (Old town of Rhodes) with many shops and cafes.  (FB_

Day 10 : Heraklion – Santorini
First port of call today will be Heraklion capital of Crete.   Visit  the Palace of
Knossos, the center of the Minoan Civilization.   In the afternoon  cruise to the
breathtaking island of Santorini with its unique caldera view.  with an excursion to the
Ola village.  (FB)

Day 11 Athens
Breakfast is served on board, and early morning transfer to your hotel (rooms available
after 15:00). Day at leisure at the beautiful city of Athens. Farewell dinner complete with great Greek food, wine, music, dancing and art.  Overnight
Athens hotel. (BD)

Day 12 Homeward Bound
transfer to the airport.(B)
